Equus Coaching
Transform your life, reach your goals, and break negative patterns using horses as your guides and mentors.
What is Equus Coaching?
Equus Coaching™ (Equine-Assisted Coaching) is a powerful, experiential form of personal development and life coaching that uses horses as partners — it does not involve training or riding the horse.
Horses serve as honest mirrors. It’s not magical or mystical, though it can seem that way at times. They’re wired as prey animals to be incredible observers their environment, other horses, and people. Horses respond to your physical presence, which includes your energy, emotions, boundaries, leadership, and communication style. Through safe, ground-based activities (no riding or horsemanship experience required), you gain clear, non-judgmental feedback that helps uncover patterns, break through blocks, and create positive change in your life, relationships, or leadership. A trained Equus Coach will guide you through these activities and help you make connections between your life and what you observe and experience with the horse.
Why it works so well:
• Horses respond to what you’re actually doing (not what you say), revealing blind spots talk-based coaching can miss.
• Being with a 900-1200 lb animal instantly helps you be present in your own body. Clients consistently report that their emotional awareness is heightened when working in Equus sessions.
• Horses can serve as powerful metaphors which will help you make connections and access your own wisdom.
• Sessions are facilitated by a certified coach and focus entirely on your growth — the horse will serve as a co-facilitator.
This approach is especially transformative for women ready to stop enduring life and start creating one they love. Many clients say it brings insights and breakthroughs faster than traditional coaching alone.
No prior horse experience needed. Safety and comfort are always prioritized.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does Equus Coaching work?
Equus Coaching is on on-the-ground experience (no riding), where we will use the feedback and wisdom of our equine partners to help you explore any area of your life that needs attention, healing, or growth.
No previous horse handling experience is necessary, and your safety is of the utmost importance. Only well-handled horses with a gentle temperament are selected as co-facilitators of this important work. I will always be close by if you desire additional support at any moment.
Equus sessions are much longer than virtual coaching sessions, generally at least 2 hours, but can be half or full day experiences.
Equus Coaching is a beautiful complement to virtual coaching and is highly recommended when experiencing emotional or cognitive blocks in traditional coaching.
How should I prepare?
Wear sensible, closed toe shoes that are okay to get dirty, and clothes that you don’t mind getting a little messy as well. Expect some dust, horse hair, and possibly some wet kisses as a parting gift from your equine partners.
How do I know if Equus Coaching is right for me?
Use my contact form and let’s chat. Once I hear from you, we can schedule a virtual call to discuss your goals and what you are hoping to achieve with Equus Coaching. This call is completely free, and gives us both the opportunity to explore whether working together would be a good fit.
Where are you located?
I am located in Northern California, outside Sacramento, but occasionally host clients in Southern and Central California as well. If travel is required for you to experience Equus Coaching with me, we will discuss logistics and what to expect before you book your travel.
